🌿 Grounding Hour – April 21, 2026

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM, MA Mom Advocates (MAMA) and Grounded MAMA will host a virtual Grounding Hour in recognition of Black On On On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM, MA Mom Advocates (MAMA) and Grounded MAMA will host a virtual Grounding Hour in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week—a dedicated space centering Black birthing people, families, and the communities who care for them.

This is a space created intentionally for pause, connection, and restoration.
Not a presentation. Not a panel. A moment to be held in community.

✨ Why This Space MattersBlack Maternal Health Week is both a celebration and a call to action. While we uplift the strength, leadership, and legacy of Black birth workers and families, we also acknowledge the systemic inequities that continue to impact pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and parenting experiences.

Grounded MAMA was created because families shared a common truth:
There are not enough spaces where Black mothers feel safe, heard, and not judged.

Grounding Hour responds to that need by offering:

  • Trauma-informed reflection and conversation

  • Gentle somatic grounding practices

  • Community connection rooted in cultural understanding

  • A judgment-free environment

  • Access to shared knowledge and “know your rights” education

🌱 What to Expect During Grounding Hour

This gathering is intentionally designed to feel calm, accessible, and affirming.

Participants will experience:

  • Light guided grounding (no yoga experience needed)

  • Space to reflect on maternal health and lived experience

  • Community-centered dialogue

  • The option to listen quietly, share openly, or simply breathe

There is no expectation—only invitation.

🤎 Centering Black Maternal Health

Black maternal health is not just about outcomes—it is about dignity, autonomy, and being cared for as whole people.

This hour honors:

  • The legacy of Black midwives, doulas, and healers

  • The voices of families navigating systems today

  • The importance of culturally rooted wellness practices

  • The need for prevention, not just intervention

  • Healing as a collective experience

We believe improving maternal health requires both systemic change and spaces where people can reconnect to themselves and each other.

🌼 Who Should Attend?

Grounding Hour welcomes:

  • Black mothers and birthing people

  • Families and caregivers

  • Birth workers and doulas

  • Providers committed to equity

  • Advocates, organizers, and community members

All who come in respect and solidarity are welcome.
